Post bariatric
With the advent and development of bariatric surgery techniques (balloon, gastrectomy, bypass, etc.) today we find an increasingly large population of postbariatric subjects who report weight loss stories of up to 60 kilos or more.
Skin elasticity in many of these cases fails to follow the “deflation” of subcutaneous tissues, especially fat, and therefore we find ourselves with excess inelastic skin, which often creates aesthetically unacceptable creases.
The only method of removing excess skin is plastic surgery, which by carefully positioning the scars, will be able to reconstruct a harmonious silhouette. The most common operations in this field are brachioplasty, mastopexy, abdominoplasty, torsoplasty and thigh lift.
These are interventions that require a thorough preoperative study with both the surgeon and the anesthetist.
